The MAMS Math Team will be starting on Wednesday! The MAMS 7th and 8th grade math team will begin meeting Wednesdays in Mr. Knight's room (2727) starting December 6th. Sign up and permission slips are in the main office.


The MAMS Cheering Team is starting back up!  The first meeting will be this today after school in the cafeteria and practices will be every Monday and Thursday after school.  The team is open to any interested 6,7, or 8th grader.


Yearbooks are still for sale! 
Yearbooks can be ordered online at https://www.treering.com/validate?PassCode=1014564198023651 or in the main office until April 1st. Softcover books are $20. Hardcover is $6.95 extra. Ordering through the TreeRing website will allow you to customize 2 pages in your book with your own photos and memories.



D&D club won’t be meeting this week (Tuesday) to accommodate play auditions.  Our future meetings will be held on Wednesdays starting 12/13.

Any MAMS student considering playing lacrosse in the spring should plan to attend a quick informational meeting on Wednesday, Dec. 6th at 8:45
 in the cafeteria after you've had your attendance taken.

The MAMS 6th grade is partnering with Scholastic to give the gift of a cozy pair of PJs and a new book to children living in shelters. Every new pair of PJs that are donated will be matched with a brand new book donation in order to give children in need a warm and reassuring bedtime. If you are interested in donating a pair of new PJs, please send them in by December 13th.

Those of you that have passed in your forms for science club should have received an email from Ms. V. This email was sent out before break so check it out. If you didn't receive one but think you should've email Ms. V. 
The 6th Grade MSBA Book Club will meet every other Tuesday starting on December 5th in the Learning Commons during lunch and motor break.

The 7th/8th Grade Book Club will also meet every other Wednesday starting December 6th in the Learning Commons after school until the late bus.

Sign up/permission forms are available in the Learning Commons and in the main office. Forms are due back to the Learning Commons by Tuesday, December 5.

There will be basketball supervision in Ms. Rioux's room 1403, directly after the walker bell for the team with the 2nd practice time slot. 

Due to the change in the Target Time schedule, iTeam will need to change its meeting times and days to after school from 
2:30 to 3:45 every other Tuesday. Our first meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, December 5th. If you are interested in being a part of the iTeam and have not yet applied, please email or come speak to Mr. Palmer in room 2465. 
Eagle Cafe Logo Contest: Tuesday is the final day to submit a logo (drawing) for the Eagle Cafe!  Please bring your entry to the office!
The MTA High School Hockey team will be selling Christmas Trees to benefit the MTA Hockey program on the following days: Nov. 26, Dec. 2, 3, 9 & 10th. These trees are Maine grown balsam firs for only $35! Trees will be sold at 99 Main St. in Topsham.

Speaking of the Hockey Team... the Eagles truly soared on the ice at the Colisee last night, beating South Portland with a solid win of 10-0.  Jameson Fowler and Kennedy Eddy each scored two goals.   Other points were scored by Alex Witwicki, Zack Ridlon, Hunter Merryman, Kevin Hawkes, Kyle Graffam and Jacob Fullerton.  Sam Young and Ben Milson ensured the shutout between the pipes. 

The interact club is collecting cans this month for midcoast hunger prevention program and the elementary school “Canstruction” project. Bring your food donations/cans and put them in the boxes located near the office.

This year our MAMS spring musical will be Peter Pan Jr. We have posted all the information about the auditions, roles available, and the tentative schedule under the Middle School tab on our website:mtastage.weebly.com
There is an Audition Workshop on December 5th 
and two days of auditions on December 6th and December 7th
Only students who are interested in being on stage need to attend the auditions. Students interested in crew can send me an email and we will put them on the list but Crew will not start working until April.

Student Council Meeting reminder: Our next meeting is Tuesday, December 5 from the walker bell to 4 PM.  New members are welcome.  We hope to see you there!

The Interact club is starting a project where we are helping the elementary schools in gathering cans for Can-Struction. They're partnering with Mid Coast Hunger Prevention Program to fill their shelves with food donations. These donations that we will collect in the middle school will become sculptures. The elementary students will be implementing STEAM (STEM with an addition of art) to create their sculptures. After they finish, all food will be donated to local hunger relief organizations.


Teachers: if you are hosting a group/student for academic support on a Tuesday or a Thursday or both, please send an email with names and modes of transportation (Parent pick up or late bus) to Ms. Buck by 2:30 pm on each day of supervision.
