PROVISIONS FOR ATHLETIC FIRST AID EMERGENCY CARE

Provisions for athletic first aid emergency care will be provided for all students participating in home athletic practices and contests.

  1. All coaches and intramural instructors as a condition of employment must be certified as having completed a CPR and HIV spills course. All courses must be approved by the school physician and Superintendent. A first aid course will be completed before or during the first year of employment.
  2. Provision for immediate communication with local ambulance service will be present at all practices and contests.
  3. An emergency first aid kit, approved by the school physician, will be immediately available at all practices and contests.
  4. A physician or medical paraprofessional, approved by the school physician, will be present or on call at home contests in all interscholastic sports.
